Mitch McConnell is the enemy of the people; there is no justification for his actions. Trump must have something on him. Mitch is willing to violate, oaths of office, public trust, human decency and political pride to protect Trump. He announced his allegiance, declared his loyalty and submitted his resolution in favor of covering up Trump's impeachable activities. McConnell is not smart enough to know the truth will come out. It may not be in time to get Trump, out of office but, eventually, the world will know what kind of person he is. That's the fate of all who participate in the cover up and who vote along party lines, instead of what is their sworn duty. The, republican, senators who do the right thing, will bring Trump to justice.
In a word, the trial is, boring, I will watch sparingly. Adam Schiff’s comments made it clear, McConnell’s resolution, describing the rules of the trial, are intended to hide the truth, not to provide it. Schiff’s words laid out a clear vision of what McConnell and fellow republicans are trying to do. They will do anything to hold onto the White House, including, supporting a man who could ruin the country. They are willing to jeopardize our national security, violate their oaths, of office, betray their country and its people, ignore the facts, and burn in hell; to save Mr. Trump's’ presidency. Their actions are, betrayal, treason, and unforgivable, Trump must be removed from office, more for what he might do, than what he has done.
The house managers have done a great job putting the, impeachment, puzzle together, even with one hand tied behind their backs. McConnell is doing everything he can to keep the truth from coming out. The Democrats are doing everything they can to get the truth out. Anybody who listened to the testimony, during the investigation hearings, already knows what happened. If you have been watching the trial you, now, have a pretty clear picture. What we must have are the, eyewitness, testimony and the, pertinent documents, to verify, shore up and divulge any more facts. When I began writing about the impeachment, I was the only journalist who said Mr. Trump would be removed from office; many news personalities said he would not.
The, majority republicans would not vote to convict. More and more articles are coming out, saying removal from office may be possible. The needle has not moved much, according to the polls, but public awareness and the seriousness of matter is becoming more obvious. Some of the moderate republicans have said they are willing to break ranks and vote to protect the constitution, of The United States of America. I say to all who have a vote, vote your duty not you party, Trump, needs to go. by gero 1/23/2020
Trump used the office of the Presidency, for selfish interests; he forced a leader of a foreign nation to interfere in the 2020 election. In a letter and through sworn testimony, it has been proven, Trump withheld military aid to Ukraine until certain demands were met. Trump did not have the right, to withhold the funds. The nearly four hundred thousand dollars, was approved by congress to, help, protect our national security. The funds were not intended to help Trump get re-elected, to a second term.
The money was not Trumps to withhold; it was yours. If you are an American taxpayer, that money was more yours, than his. Quid pro quo, is Latin, it means I do something for you, you do something for me. It happens all the time, it’s how the world turns. Mick Mulvaney said it himself, on national television, “get over it, it happens all the time.”
We know that the constitution grants the Senate control over the proceedings, this gives McConnell the power. We know McConnell and Lindsey Graham have already made a decision; they want it over quickly. They do not consider getting to the truth, honoring their oaths, what is best for America or protecting our democracy. Their only concern is that, Mr. Trump is not removed from office, that is not the way things are done in America.
The Republicans are complaining about the House of Reprehensive, not providing, first hand, witness and documents to prove their case? Trump blocked the documents and witnesses from getting to the committee, that is where the second article of impeachment comes in; obstruction of congress. The, three, bodies of government, must work together in an unbiased, impartial and democratic arena, in order to bring the truth to the American people.
The nearly four hundred thousand dollars, was approved by congress to, help, protect our national security. The funds were not intended to help Trump get re-elected, to a second term.
I have been surprised, many times over, with what Trump has gotten away with. I have said it before, and I will say it again, he will be the first President, in U.S. history, to be removed from office. It must happen for the sake of our democracy and our national security. I know that there are many, who do not realize the seriousness of the situation; I do not fault them for that. I have been paying close attention to recent events, taking place in the Whitehouse and, my concerns run deep. I hear, see and read what’s available, I process the information and come to informed conclusions. I publish my thoughts on social media; I hope, they shed light on the seriousness, of what is going on in the government of, The United States of America.
There is no defense, Mr. Trump hung himself with his tweets, his on-camera interviews and his, insane, speeches, at his rallies. By documenting his actions, Trump help build a case against himself. You cannot un-ring a bell, although Trump's attempts to, on a regular basis .
Mitch McConnell probably wishes he did not tell the American people that he would work, hand in glove, with the, Trump, administration to get him acquitted. McConnell is willing to work with, Whitehouse council, and the republican senate to keep Trump in power. Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the house, has chosen the impeachment managers and plans to send the articles of impeachment to Mr. McConnell later today. Let the games began, may the American citizens learn the truth about the man they call, Mr. President.
When Congress found Trump guilty, the consensus was, he would be acquitted in the Senate. The Republicans seemed to be united in their efforts to keep him in office. At the time, I did not read any articles expressing the possibility he would be removed; my faith in the American people did not weaver. My articles contained thoughts of impeachment, success, I felt comfortable that the truth would come out and that Trump would be removed. Two months later, we are seeing more optimism that justice will prevail.
Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the house, has chosen the impeachment managers and plans to send the articles of impeachment to Mr. McConnell later today. Let the games began, may the American citizens learn the truth about the man they call, Mr. President.
America’s fall from grace, the bad guys are winning the war for the first time since America won its independence. The United States has always stood for human rights, and independence; that right is under siege by U.S. advisories. Russia, North Korea, and others, are coming after us and they have the upper hand; Donald Trump is being played, America is being played. The Mueller report proves that Russia, influenced the 2016 election, it worked out better than Putin could have expected. Not only did his boy win, but Putin continues to control American policy through Trump. Senior cabinet members continue to abandon their post because Trump, will not allow them to be effective in securing national interests. These men are sworn to protect America national security but, are being hampered by the leader of, the free world. Dan Coats, former Director of National Security, is the latest, high ranking casualty. He stepped down because Trump said he believed Putin over his own intelligence director. Another win for Putin and another blow to American Democracy. Trump continues to appoints, acting official, who are unqualified Republicans, to jobs requiring extensive knowledge and experiance. Trump turns a blind eye to Russia’s’ cyber-attacks geared to to making America weaker and Russia stronger.
The United States has always stood for human rights, and independence; that right is under siege by U.S. advisories. Russia and North Korea, among others, are coming after us and they have the upper hand; America is being played.
As I watch the impeachment hearings, it becomes clear that Trump's actions has had catastrophic effects on our national security. The hearings have only exposed a few of the impeachable offenses, but has already exposed a pattern of corruption and authoritarian practices. As the testimonies are heard the public will learn how vulnerable our democracy is, and how close we are to losing it.
November 20, 2019 will go down in history as the day the, final, nail was set. Ambassador Sondland answered questions during a deposition weeks ago, some of his answers were later changed during a closed-door testimony. Today he clarified everything, his demeanor seemed genuine, his answers were sincere and his opening statement gave a, clear, picture of his involvement in Ukrainian activities.
To act like a good President is to be good President, this President doesn’t act like a President. His speeches send the wrong message, they are inconsistent with American values. We cannot blame him for all that is wrong in America, but he and his people are doing nothing to fix it. If he were the right man for the job, he would not have to fight to stay in office. If he were right for the job he would not have to lie to the, America, people; if he were right for the job, he would be doing the job, he's not.
This President has an agenda, not to make America great but to make Trump great. In his mind he can do no wrong, in his mind his image should be carved into Mount Rushmore, in his mind he should be running the country unabated, having no checks and balances; Trumps fantasies are America’s nightmare. “I could stand in the middle of Fifth avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose any voters,” Trump once said, he may be right.
The constitution is not clear regarding the rules of impeachment, they do give power to both the House and Senate. The Republican Senate is obvious, they will not support any action against the Trump Presidency, at this time; we are only in phase two of the proceedings so minds will change. Phase one included an investigation, gathering evidence to determine whether to proceed with the hearing. The evidence supported impeachment proceedings to move ahead.
The, Republican, senators contested legal proceeding by storming a close door session during the investigation. Not only was it a violation of House rules but, it was a threat to our national security. Taking their cell phones, into a restricted area, where classified testimony was being given, was an act of desperation. I would not expect to see this kind of, behavior in a free democracy. We do not know what was said but we do know that the Senators involved had met with Trump.
“Here we go again,” is a misstatement, there are major difference between, impeachment inquiry number one and inquiry number two. The Muller investigation did not give the Speaker of the House, enough confidence to pursue articles of impeachment. If the first one doesn’t get him the second one will. The Muller report stopped short of accusing Trump, of impeachable conduct; that is why impeachment, in that case, will be extremely difficult to prove. The new allocations are much more damaging because Trump will not be able to say, he didn’t know about it. Trump has two major issues that will cause him problems, as the inquiry progresses. The first is, he believes his own lies, as Nancy Pelosi said he believes he did nothing wrong. It will be hard for him to defend himself when he doesn’t know what’s going on. The Republicans, who are trying to defend him, know he crossed the line but do not want to lose the White House. They will do everything they can but, they will not go down with the ship. The rats always abandon the ship, right before it goes down.
It will be hard for him to defend himself when he doesn’t know what’s going on.
The POTUS told State Department staff not to testify at the impeachment hearings, many of them complied. The act is obstruction of Congress which is an impeachable offence. The witness who testified were consistent in their testimonies, proving Trump is not acting like a President, he is acting like a tyrant and he seems comfortable playing the role. He feels he can make up rules as he moves toward a Authoritarian regime.
Mr. Trump gave the order to hold on to the funds, “until I get what I want;” he gave no thought, that his action was illegal and impeachable. He gave no thought to the fact people may die, he gave no thought that it was immoral, he knows that it would aid Russia and hurt Ukraine. It was important to Mr. Trump that his rival, V.P. Biden, be hurt at the polls. Mr. Trump would have gotten away with it if, not for a brave patriot who, blew the whistle. As written in an earlier article, Trump's inability to know right from wrong and his constant showboating will be his downfall.
Our national security is dependent on relationships with foreign countries, Trump continues to side with Russia. By holding back military aid, Trump withheld Ukraine’s ability to defend themselves. The action advanced Russian effort to annex Crimea, while weakening Ukraine’s ability to defend themselves. Trump also canceled a White House meeting with the Ukrainian President, which would have given Lewinsky more bargaining power against Putin. Once again Trump falls in line with Russia, over our allies, on the battlefield.
The action advanced Russian effort to annex Crimea, while weakening Ukraine’s ability to defend themselves. Trump also canceled a White House meeting with the Ukrainian President, which would have given Lewinsky more bargaining power against Putin.
The political divide rages on; like a fire ravaged forest, doomed to destruction. The Republican senate has vowed to vote in opposition to Trump’s conviction, he may not be removed from office. The consensus is that, none of the, Republican, representatives are willing to vote their conscious, they are, willing to violate their oath of office. I have not heard anyone say, “Trump will be removed,” I am saying it. If, roughly, twenty Republicans do the right thing, and vote for conviction, he will be terminated.
For the State Department not to cooperate with Congress to discover the truth, for the American People, is a disgrace. It demonstrates where their loyalties lie, not to their country but to their boss. Thank God for the few patriots, who put service over careers, and ignored instructions, by Trump, not to testify. In spite of Trump's defiance, the testimony that was available proved without a doubt, that Trump is guilty of multiple, impeachable, offences.
The arguments against impeachment are ridicules at best, disgraceful and treasonous at worst. The Republicans claimed that the proceedings were unfair, they were legal and allowed under the constitution. The Republicans said there were no fact witnesses, that was because they were instructed, by Trump, not to testify. The Republicans said the funds were released, which they were; after they got caught. They said there was no Quid Pro Quo, but there was.

The arguments against impeachment are ridicules at best, disgraceful and treasonous at worst. The Republicans claimed that the proceedings were unfair, that is not true, they were legal under the constitution. The Republicans said there were no fact witnesses; which is true, the witnesses were ordered, to ignore the subpoenas. The Republicans said the funds were released, which they were; after Trump got caught. They said there was no Quid Pro Quo, but there was. Despite Trump's defiance, the testimony given, proved that he is guilty of impeachable, offenses. He did what he was accutestimonysed of, then he tried to cover it up. He ordered the State Department to ignore all subpoenas.
According to the Constitution, the Senate will act as jurors, at impeachment trial. Before the trial begins the jurors are sworn in. With their right hand on the bible, they swear to deliver a fair verdict based on the evidence, so help me God. The Republicans, representatives were not willing to vote their conscience, they were willing to violate the oath of office, for Trump. Only one senator voted to convict him, Mitt Romney, the Senator from Utah. He was the only one with the courage to do the right thing. He did what he needed to do, to honor his oath and to protect the Constitution; against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Thank God for citizens like Senator Romney, the witnesses that testified, in spite of Trump's orders not too, and the whistleblower who came forth, to open the investigation. Americans, who put service and honor, over politics and careers, Americans willing to stand up to America.
The political divide rages on; like wildfire through a forest being destroyed. The Republican Senate followed through with its threat not to convict Trump, even though they knew he was guilty. Because Trump was not removed from office; he is back stronger than ever. He immediately went to work punishing the brave patriots who testified during the impeachment investigation. The witnesses were protecting the integrity of the U.S. Constitution. For the Senate and the State Department not to cooperate with Congress to discover the truth, for the American People, is a disgrace. It demonstrates where their loyalties lie, not to their country but to one man. If not for a few patriots, who put service over careers, duty over fear, integrity over disgrace and democracy over tyranny.
A house divided, will stand no more
